Breakfast is to die for with a superb range of cereals, fruit, compote, fruit salad, nuts, seeds etc. and a delicious cooked breakfast. And our host, Gus, was very friendly and accommodating and a fount of useful information, advice and help without ever being in your face. A wonderful end to our tour of Scotland. The quality is so good that this is excellent value for money

The variety of... read more delicious food personally prepared by the owner Angus Campbell for breakfast is unbelievable. I honestly doubt that there is any establishment on the island that will compete with either their food or service. Sherry and Angus go the extra mile for their guests and the attention to detail is just remarkable.

  A truly exceptional guest house - Just returned from an exceptional stay at Gus and Sherry’s beautiful guesthouse on Bute where we were blessed with glorious weather and superb cycling all over the island. From... read more the minute we arrived to the minute we left, Gus was the most perfect host. On arrival, he took the time to sit down and welcome us over a lovely cup of coffee, giving us great tips on where to go and what to do on Bute. Our room (Skye) was beautiful and spotlessly clean with a great view over the bay. There were lots of very welcome surprises like a quality coffee machine with great coffee pods and lindt chocolates, a mini fridge with fresh milk and rose wine, even homemade muesli bars appeared on day two. The breakfasts were tremendous and nothing was too much trouble for Gus – everything tasted superb and we were convinced he must have been a chef in a previous life! In comparison to other top quality hotels and B&B’s in Scotland, Highlander House offers outstanding quality and value for money. We cannot recommend this establishment highly enough and would like to thank Gus and Sherry for a truly memorable stay. We hope to return again one day soon.

The location is perfect with panoramic views over the bay and a garden to sit and watch the sun going down , only a short walk away from the ferry .
If you want a relaxed holiday with an excellent choice of good quality food , beautiful accommodation , excellent value for money go no further than Highlander House
