The Breakfast was thoroughly brilliant ( Best Ever!) and the room and dining area are just absolute class with tasteful furnishings. The little extras in our room were a lovely touch too.

  A Glorious Stay  - My wife and I arrived off the ferry on the 24th of July to find our B&B a gentle stroll along the promenade from the terminal. We were greeted by... read more Gus who made us most welcome into his well maintained and gorgeous home. We were greeted, as though we were long lost friends and made to feel extremely welcomed with a warmth and enthusiasm I had never experienced before in a B&B.

The attention to detail for the guests were second to none from arrival to departure. The rooms were stunning with touches of luxuries you would have expected from a 5 star hotel. The views from the room were wonderful across the bay.

The breakfasts were out of this world and we were encouraged by Gus to try the best of local produce from Bute. It was a wonderful way to start the day before exploring.

Not only was the welcome superb but also the knowledge that Gus had of the island and encouraged us to visit areas of Bute we had not considered. Gus was able to recommend restaurants and even knew the specific days and opening times, a wealth of knowledge .

All together it was a wonderful experience visiting Rothesay and Bute set up by the very warm and personal experience from our stay at Highlander House B&B. We have already recommended this to friends and family and without hesitation to anyone looking to have a base to discover Bute.

Treats of tray bakes appeared daily in our room, delicious.The view from our room overlooking the bay was beautiful with the most amazing sunsets. Gus was a constant provider of information to help us enjoy our hoiday and recommended places to eat, we visited them all during our five night stay.Thank you Gus and Sherry for making our stay on Bute so memorable .

The location is perfect with panoramic views over the bay and a garden to sit and watch the sun going down , only a short walk away from the ferry .
If you want a relaxed holiday with an excellent choice of good quality food , beautiful accommodation , excellent value for money go no further than Highlander House
