We had such a fantastic stay at Highlander House 6 months ago that we decided we would go back for a relaxing chill weekend.
Highlander House hosts Gus and Sherry have now ruined that theory.
How they managed to not only impress, but give us a better experience than the first visit is amazing. The food was as good, if not better than last visit. Gus even remembered what I wanted for breakfast. Sherry did her magic with the flowers and snacks on the hallway table.
I rate this hospitable establishment very high. If you are looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing, with excellent food, then this is the place to go.
We will be back and I have no doubt at all, that we will be pleasantly surprised yet again, leaving relaxed and re charged.
Once again a BIG thank you to two charming, welcoming, pleasant hosts - Gus and Sherry.

Our hosts were attentive without being intrusive and Gus's wide knowledge and enthusiasm about places to visit on the island was infectious and made our stay even better.

The room was modern, fresh and spotlessly clean, with a large comfortable bed and lots of wee extras to make our stay more comfortable - from complimentary home-made wine (which was excellent), to freely available fresh fruit and chocolate brownies, and of course, complimentary confectionary left in our room each day and breakfast was simply sublime. The menu was wide and varied, however when you visit (and you must) you must try the smoked trout and salmon breakfast. It was devine!

I cant recommend the Highlander House highly enough. We will definitely be back.

Me & my husband visited Bute on a cycling trip... read more and it made even better to be staying here, we had the Skye room, the bed was so comfortable & the room had a fabulous sea view. The breakfasts were great, starting with homemade Granola being the best Iv had. The host (Gus) gave us recommendations on where to eat at night. We will definitely stay here again, highly recommended.
