The gorgeous rooms that were... read more so well appointed that they equal (nay surpass) anything you would find in a 5* hotel. the huge comfortable bed, the crisp white bedding, the fluffy towels, coffee machine, huge TV and everything else too numerous to mention. The breakfast - excellent choices, freshly prepared local produce and huge quantities. the beautiful home, handmade treats and fresh flowers in abundance.

This is the best place we have ever stayed and can and will, highly recommend it to everyone. Fantastic place and a fantastic stay. Thank you Gus and Sherry.

I cannot recall a warmer or more thoughtful... read more welcome than what I received from them and enjoyed in every thoughtful detail of my room.

And this 'welcome' was not just upon arrival, it was daily and throughout every interaction. Especially notable is the consideration they put into the start of the day with perhaps the best breakfasts I have had at a guest house. I ventured out each day well-nourished and well-nurtured!

The kindness shown to me and all the guests was so encouraging, particularly during a difficult day I was having. I appreciate the flexibility and graciousness they showed me, and the wonderful way they equipped me to enjoy Rothesay.

Down to the last detail, everything is so tastefully done. The decor and unique artwork is fascinating, enjoyable and also makes for great conversation-starters!

A very special place and even more special people. They are in their element there and it shows.

Our rooms - Glenfinnan and Skye - were beautifully decorated and very comfortable, with lovely views of the water and generous amenities (including coffee machines,... read more large TVs, pillow spray and mini-fridges with little bottles of fresh milk and rosé!).

Gus and Sherry were wonderful hosts, who went above and beyond to make our stay special - with chocolates and flapjacks left in our rooms, and great recommendations for places to see and eat in Bute. Gus even made our dinner reservation one night, and drove us there!

Breakfast was also superb, with some of the best smoked salmon we’ve ever had, and our favourite Stornoway black pudding.

We would highly recommend Highlander House B&B, and hope to be back one day. Thank you, Gus and Sherry!
