I cannot recall a warmer or more thoughtful... read more welcome than what I received from them and enjoyed in every thoughtful detail of my room.

And this 'welcome' was not just upon arrival, it was daily and throughout every interaction. Especially notable is the consideration they put into the start of the day with perhaps the best breakfasts I have had at a guest house. I ventured out each day well-nourished and well-nurtured!

The kindness shown to me and all the guests was so encouraging, particularly during a difficult day I was having. I appreciate the flexibility and graciousness they showed me, and the wonderful way they equipped me to enjoy Rothesay.

Down to the last detail, everything is so tastefully done. The decor and unique artwork is fascinating, enjoyable and also makes for great conversation-starters!

Super location lovely views. Would highly recommend if you are considering a stay in the Isle of Bute.

  Be back soon Rothesay - My second visit to gus and Sherri at the highlander and superb once again.the comfortable clean rooms with drinks,snacks and sherri’s delicious home baking area delight, there’s even a pillow... read more spray to enhance a great nights sleep.breakfast is special here,yes go for the full Scottish fry made with local produce but don’t be afraid to venture of piste to smoked salmon/trout/haddock territory with free range eggs. Gus is font of knowledge and will advise on places to eat and visit.can recommend the new hot dog shak at the ferry terminal, the black bull for home style food, large portions,book ahead, and of course sherri’s homemade granola! Loved the goody bag gus gave us before we left.
