If you’ve never visited Glenfinnan (only 125 miles north of Glasgow) this place of exceptional beauty will be a treat visit with the magnificent vista; proud vanquished Jacobite-supporting clan members’ memorial on one side; and exquisite train viaduct (featured in Harry Potter) on the other side.

In 1851, originally built as two rooms, your expanded 1st floor room with two bay-facing and floor-to-ceiling paneled windows, commands sweeping views over the bay, Loch Striven, to the mainland mountains beyond. It features a king-size bed, cozy lounge area with romantic, smokeless fireplace and handsome 50 inch 4K TV. We hope you’ll get a kick out of the walk-in shower with bay water views.

					  Fantastic break at a beautiful boutique style guest house. - Booked two nights stay at this lovely boutique style guest house at the end of May. The website was well laid out, very informative and easy to book.

We managed... read more to reserve a room with beautiful views over Rothesay bay, which were breathtaking.

When we arrived we were met with Gus and Sherry, who showed us around their guest house, which was beautifully decorated and laid out. Gus then informed us about some of the history of the building and places to visit around the Isle of Bute over a welcoming cup of coffee. The weather was fantastic, so later we were able to relax in the front garden overlooking the sea, with a complimentary bottle of Gus's home made rose wine.

The breakfasts were cooked to perfection and set you up for the day ahead.

Our hosts were excellent and could not do enough to make sure that we enjoyed our stay, which went in far too quick. 

I would definitely love to return for another break and would recommend you stay at the Highlander House, if you are on a visit to the Isle of Bute.

					  First class accommodation with terrific hosts .   - Delightful B&B, we spent a few days here and enjoyed superb accommodation with exceptional breakfasts, nothing was too much trouble and Gus and Sherry were first class hosts. Can’t recommend... read more Highlander House highly enough. Bute is a must see destination.
