If you’ve never visited Glenfinnan (only 125 miles north of Glasgow) this place of exceptional beauty will be a treat visit with the magnificent vista; proud vanquished Jacobite-supporting clan members’ memorial on one side; and exquisite train viaduct (featured in Harry Potter) on the other side.

In 1851, originally built as two rooms, your expanded 1st floor room with two bay-facing and floor-to-ceiling paneled windows, commands sweeping views over the bay, Loch Striven, to the mainland mountains beyond. It features a king-size bed, cozy lounge area with romantic, smokeless fireplace and handsome 50 inch 4K TV. We hope you’ll get a kick out of the walk-in shower with bay water views.

Our breakfasts were perfect and the beds and rooms, top notch. I've stayed in many places before on Rothesay but this one beats them all. Everything provided is to a very high standard and in my opinion a deluxe delight, not to be missed when you're visiting the beautiful Isle of Bute. Highlander House is a treat for the senses, from the overall ambience, your host's welcome and the delightful grounds with sea view, I don't hesitate in recommending you visit here soon.

					  Absolutely Stunning!!!    - This quaint B&B is stunning in every possible aspect of its offering. The bedrooms are beautiful and very well appointed. The rooms are warm, clean and decorated very tastefully. The... read more whole place is of the highest cleanliness and comfort. The meals, our breakfast was a fantastic experience, Gus & Sherry pulled out all the stops, tailoring our dining choices. The reception of Gus and his warmth and delicious coffee on arrival was so refreshing. I would urge anyone looking for a quiet, warm inviting B&B to choose this stunning place as a place to enjoy Bute from. The views from the bedroom, are stunning and you can watch the ferry coming and going all day, this coupled with the coffee machine and the constant replenishment of coffee and fresh milk make this a definite return visit. An upgrade due to a computer glitch, where we booked a view, Gus contacted me personally and apologised and offered another room with a higher degree of fit and finish indicative of the top rated room. We were absolutely blown away with the visit and plan a return. Highly recommended in every way!!!!!

					  David and Christine’s stay. - This B&B was absolutely terrific. The attention to detail in room furnishings was excellent. There was even a mini fridge containing fresh milk for your tea or coffee, and some... read more homemade rose wine! There was also a coffee machine, not just little sachets of Nescafé!The bed was beautifully comfortable and the breakfast delicious.
