We managed... read more to reserve a room with beautiful views over Rothesay bay, which were breathtaking.
When we arrived we were met with Gus and Sherry, who showed us around their guest house, which was beautifully decorated and laid out. Gus then informed us about some of the history of the building and places to visit around the Isle of Bute over a welcoming cup of coffee. The weather was fantastic, so later we were able to relax in the front garden overlooking the sea, with a complimentary bottle of Gus's home made rose wine.
The breakfasts were cooked to perfection and set you up for the day ahead.
Our hosts were excellent and could not do enough to make sure that we enjoyed our stay, which went in far too quick.
I would definitely love to return for another break and would recommend you stay at the Highlander House, if you are on a visit to the Isle of Bute.

Charming island experience - Gus was very welcoming and understanding of my dairy intolerance. Breakfast was superb. Although I wasn't able to sample the beautifully presented homemade sweet treats that appeared in the rooms... read more every day an alternative was provided.
The rooms have everything you could want but still retain their original charm. There were even 2 suitcase stands (not just one) which is most unusual! Both rooms had lovely sea views. A very enjoyable stay.

Lovely hospitality tray with added extra s... read more such has really drinkable home made wine & delicious home bakes. Gus and Sherry were wonderful hosts, warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. The room offered a spectacular sea view and a seating area to enjoy it from. It was fairly close to the town and ferry and offered free parking. All in all we would return happily and highly recommend to others..thank you !!
