Gus cooks delicious breakfasts with local produce, notably smoked salmon. Sherry provides a daily treat of baked goodies. It is a very friendly, sociable home full of delightful objects.
The seaview is wonderful and the view to the cliffs and garden is also lovely.

We were lucky to have glorious sunshine and be able to enjoy a glass of homemade rose wine on the front terrace. Throughout our visit Gus was friendly and helpful.
Gus provided us with a fantastic overview of what to see on Bute which made our visit truly memorable.
Lovely cafes and restaurants in Rothesay and surrounds.
Mount Stuart is a must. Full of architectural interest and intricacies.
Wonderful to see seals and enjoy glorious sea views.
I don’t think there can be anywhere nicer to stay on the Isle of Bute.

The location is perfect with panoramic views over the bay and a garden to sit and watch the sun going down , only a short walk away from the ferry .
If you want a relaxed holiday with an excellent choice of good quality food , beautiful accommodation , excellent value for money go no further than Highlander House

He... read more is the consummate host nothing is too much trouble AND he makes wine! She is an amazing baker there was always a plate of goodies to enjoy in our room and the reception chef and gardener. We stayed in the well appointed room, Bens and Glens, overlooking the stunning rear gardens. The bed was enormous and very comfy and the shower was great good pressure. Breakfasts were plentiful .cereals, fresh fruit and delicious hot selections to choose from. The B &B is situated right on the front, an easy walk to the ferry terminal and the many restaurants in Rothesay. We specifically travelled to Rothesay to visit Mount Stuart House .well worth a visit .and Gus made the trip there more memorable with his insider tips.
